Proposed plans for WHS

Living Green is planning for some really cool things to happen to Westside, Once we can get additional funding we plan to get some really neat energy efficient things for Westside High.

This nifty little thing is called the Dyson AirBlade. It's used to dry your hands off, and unlike the current hand dryers we have, it uses no hot air and will dry your hands off after just one go around, making it super efficient. A demo of how it works is available on Dyson's website www.dysonairblade.com

Wouldn't this be something to see when you come to school one day? No that's not a painting or an optical illusion that way is actually growing leaves and stuff. This project is called a Living wall which can be used to grow various plants and will fill the area with clean oxygen for us to breathe.
We're also planning on doing some other neat projects including a greenhouse, a small windmill and a rooftop garden.

Climate Change Action

9-17-2009 Club Meeting

Today we had a special guest, Westside Alumni Dr. Scott Williams.  Dr. Williams will be a valuable resource for our club.  He works for Repower America (Nebraska Chapter) and shared with us many valuable ideas and information that we can use to grow green ideas for club.

In the days and weeks to come Dr. Williams will act as a community consultant for our club goals.

We also discussed additional goals for the club, both short term and long term for the club.  We will post a list of those goals in a coming post.
